Building a Community of Grace
"Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance." Proverbs 1:5
Our mission at OLG School is to build a firm and comprehensive foundation of faith, so that faith
remains a vital part of the day throughout our students' lives. Students attend a weekly school Mass
each Wednesday morning, with each grade level taking turns at leading Mass throughout the year.
Students also receive the sacrament of reconciliation at least twice a year. During the school year,
middle school students participate in the Adoration of the Eucharist, the Living Stations of the Cross, and
the Living Rosary.
Throughout the year, religious instruction is paired with service projects in the larger community,
starting with our youngest students. In middle school, students are also required to complete a set
number of service hours on their own as students learn to live their faith and share God's love with the
wider community.
Middle school students are also paired with younger students as part of our "Big
Buddies, Little Buddies" program. Older students mentor and guide the younger students as they learn
to care for others.
Religious instruction in the classroom is designed to give students a solid background in Christianity that serves both our Catholic and non-Catholic students.
